Patrick Kane led the team with 34 goals and 55 assists while Artemi Panarin had 31 goals and 43 assists. However, Panarin was traded to Columbus in the offseason as part of a deal for Brandon Saad and Anton Forsberg. Saad had 24 goals and 29 assists for the Jackets last season.
Pittsburgh has a tough challenge to be able to play in OT last night and then hit the road to face the Blackhawks in under 24 hours. Pittsburgh has lost six straight against Chicago and lost five straight in Chicago entering tonight’s contest. The Pens are also 3-12 in their last 15 when playing in OT the day before. Chicago should be amped up for its season opener while the Pens will be on tired legs.
