Crosby set to begin workouts
PITTSBURGH, PA (The Spread) – Sidney Crosby and a handful of teammates will begin players-only workouts on Monday at the Penguins’ new practice rink.
“That sense of anticipation, knowing the guys you brought in, knowing they’re going to be big parts of the team,” Crosby said per The Tribune. “…Having that expectation there is something that gets everybody excited to start the year.”
Crosby also talked about new linemate Phil Kessel, whom he helped find a place to live in Pittsburgh after coming over from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
“Hopefully in Pittsburgh, he doesn’t have to deal with as much of that pressure,” Crosby said. “He can just be someone else on the team. Definitely with the way he can skate and shoot, he’s going to help us.”
According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Penguins are 13/1 to win the 2016 Stanley Cup. The defending champion Blackhawks are 13/2 favorites to win next year’s Cup.
