2014 Western Conference Odds
(The Spread) - The Western Conference odds are out for 2014 and the Blackhawks have opened as favorites to defend their current WC title.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Blackhawks are 5/2 to win the Western Conference in 2014. The team with the next-best odds are the Kings at 6/1, although the share the same odds as the team they've knocked out of the playoffs in consective years, the St. Louis Blues.
Continuing with the odds, the Canucks are 8/1 to win the Western Conference in 2014, while the Sharks are 17/2 and the Wild are 10/1. The Ducks, meanwhile, are 12/1, as are the Oilers, and the Stars are 18/1. The Avalanche, Predators and Jets are all 25/1, respectively, while the Coyotes are 33/1 and the Flames have the worst odds at 40/1.
The Blackhawks are also favored to defend the Stanley Cup crown at 6/1, while the Kings and Blues are both 12/1, respectively, to win next year's NHL title. The Canucks, meanewhile, are 16/1 and the Sharks are 18/1 to win the Stanley Cup.
The Oilers are listed among the long shots to win next year's NHL title at 20/1, as are the Wild, who have the same odds. The Ducks are 22/1, and the Stars and Avalanche are 40/1, respectively. The Flames, just as they are to win the Western Conference, are long shots at 100/1.
