2018-19 Stanley Cup Finals Odds Out

2018-19 Stanley Cup Finals Betting Odds 6/7/18 Lightning, Knights Favored

After Alex Ovechkin helped lead the Washington Capitals to victory in the 2017-2018 Stanley Cup Finals, the new betting odds have been released for next year's title. Despite winning it all this season, the Caps aren't one of the co-favorites to win the Cup next year.

The Favorites

According to oddsmakers, the Tampa Bay Lightning and Vegas Golden Knights are both 8/1, respectively, to win the 2018-2019 Stanley Cup. Some of the free agents on Vegas' roster include James Neal and Jason Garrison, while the Tampa Bay will have decisions to make on unrestricted free agents Chris Kunitz, Andrej Sustr and Erik Condra.

The Next Group

After the Golden Knights and Lightning the next group is big. The Boston Bruins, Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins, Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets are all 10/1, respectively. Rick Nash is the biggest free agent name for Boston while Nashville has already decided they won't bring back defenseman Alexei Emelin. The Penguins don't have a ton of decisions to make in regards to which players on their current roster to keep, while the Maple Leafs are likely to lose trade acquisitions Tomas Plekanec, who reportedly wants to return to the Montreal Canadiens.

Capitals 12/1 to repeat as Stanley Cup Champs

You'd have to go eight teams deep to find the current Stanley Cup champions, as the Caps are listed at 12/1 to win it again next year. John Carlson, Jay Beagle and Jaub Jerabek are all unrestricted free agents, with Carlson looking at the biggest payday after an excellent postseason.

The Rest

The Oilers and Sharks are 20/1 long shots, respectively, to win it all next season, follwed by the Ducks, Blue Jackets, Stars and Flyers, who are all 25/1, respectively. The Flames, Blackhawks, Kings and Wild are 30/1, respectively, followed by the Avalanche, Panthers, Devils and Blues, who are all 40/1, respectively.
