Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog have made the Canucks –190 money line favorites over the Bruins, who are +174 for tonight’s 8:00PM ET start time. The over/under total for this game is currently 5 goals.
The line continues to move in this one, although not significantly enough to make a fuss over. The Canucks opened as –200 money line favorites and at some books, they remain –200. But at most books, they’re anywhere from –185 to –190 on the ML.
Of the 2,100-plus wagers on tonight’s game, current NHL public betting information shows that 51% of bettors favor the Canucks –190. Given how much the public generally likes big favorites, it’s a little surprising that number is only 51%.
NHL Game 2 Free Pick: The Canucks have the better offense, defense, power play and penalty killing units and have an edge on face offs. That said, I don’t think the Bruins will go down 2-0 in this series. Tim Thomas played just as well as Roberto Luongo in Game 1 and Boston’s defense was just as solid. According to latest NHL trends, the Bruins are 12-5 in their last 17 overall games and 5-1 in their last six games playing on two days of rest. I think these two teams are more evenly matched than people think and the Bruins will “steal” one tonight.
