Stanley Cup Final Series Odds
(TheSpread) – The Vancouver Canucks are the clear favorites to win this year’s Stanley Cup Final as they face off with the Boston Bruins starting Wednesday night.
Vancouver is the No. 1 seed in the entire playoffs and the winner of the Western Conference while Boston was the No. 3 seed and champion in the Eastern Conference. Vancouver will have the home-ice advantage in the series.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog Vancouver is favored to win the series with odds of -215 while Boston has odds of +175.
Vancouver opened the playoffs by beating Chicago in 7 games and then beat Nashville in 6. In the conference finals, the Canucks disposed of San Jose in five games. The Canucks have been led by Henrik Sedin, who has 21 points with 19 assists. Ryan Kesler has added seven goals and 11 assists for Vancouver.
Boston reached the conference finals by beating Tampa Bay in seven games. It was the second series Boston won in seven games as the Bruins topped Montreal in seven in the first round. In the second round, the Bruins swept Philadelphia. David Krejci is leading Boston with 10 goals and seven assists. The 10 goals are most of any player in the playoffs.
These two teams met just once during the regular season and Boston won the game, 3-1 in Vancouver. The Canucks were favored in the contest and out-shot the Bruins 43-31, yet still lost by a pair of goals.
Trends show that Boston is 7-3 in their last 10 meetings with Vancouver and 4-1 in their last 5 contests in Vancouver.
In terms of injuries, Vancouver winger Mikael Samuelsson is out for the series with a leg injury while Boston center Marc Savard is out for the series due to a concussion.
