TAMPA, FL (TheSpread) – The NHL Eastern Conference Finals heads to Tampa with a tied series as the Tampa Bay Lightning is set to host the New York Rangers in Game 3 tonight at 8PM ET.
Tampa Bay is 59-30-8 on the season and 36-11-1 at home while New York is 62-27-7 overall and 31-13-2 on the road. The Lightning evened the series with New York at 1-1 thanks to a 6-2 victory on Monday night. Tampa Bay has now won four of five meetings with the Rangers this season, outscoring New York 22-11 in the five games. These two have hit the over in four of their five meetings this season as well.
According to online sports book Bovada.lv, Tampa Bay is favored at home tonight, as the Lightning are getting odds of -130 to win, while the Rangers are getting a money line of +120 to win. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 5 goals.
The Lightning were outshot 37-26 in Game 2, but Tampa Bay still managed to turn it into six goals. Tyler Johnson continues his amazing playoff run by recording a hat trick in the win. He now has 11 goals in the postseason. Alex Killorn added two goals and one assist for the Lightning while Nikita Kucherov had three assists. Chris Kreider and Derek Stepan each had a power play goal for the Rangers in the loss.
