Rask guides Bruins to win
Boston earned a 2-1 victory at Carolina Tuesday night to take a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. Chris Wagner gave the Bruins a 1-0 advantage at the 18:39 mark of the second period on his second goal of the postseason with assists going to Joakim Nordstrom and Sean Kuraly. With 13:32 remaining in the second, Brad Marchand scored on the power play off assists from David Krejci and Charlie McAvoy. The Hurricanes scored later in the second, but Tuukka Rask was stellar the rest of the way and recorded 35 saves on 36 shots in the win.
Hurricanes fall short at home
Carolina lost by a 2-1 score at home Tuesday night for its third consecutive defeat in the best-of-7 series. After trailing 2-0 in the second period, the Hurricanes got on the board at the 6:12 mark on a Calvin de Haan goal off assists from Justin Faulk and Sebastian Aho. Carolina was unable to find the equalizer the rest of the way en route to the defeat. Curtis McElhinney suffered the loss in net as he surrendered two goals on 31 shots.
NHL Betting Trends
Boston
The Bruins are 6-0 in their last six games. The favorite is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings.
Carolina
The Hurricanes are 39-19 in their last 58 games overall. Carolina is 3-8 in its last 11 games as an underdog.
Prediction:
Carolina looked a whole lot better in Game 3, but unfortunately for its sake Rask stood on his head to send Boston to another win. Look for the Hurricanes to solve Rask a couple more times here, while McElhinney stays in strong form as the hosts extend their life for at least a couple more days.
