NHL Western Conference Odds
(TheSpread) – The matchup is set for the 2011 NHL Western Conference Finals as the Vancouver will take on San Jose for a right to play for the Stanley Cup.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com the Canucks are favored to win the West with odds of 5/8 while San Jose comes in with odds of 7/5.
Vancouver is the No. 1 seed in the West and overall. The Canucks opened the playoffs by beating No. 8 Chicago in seven games. Vancouver then went on to beat No. 5 Nashville in the second round in six games. Vancouver posted 14 goals in the second round while allowing 11. Ryan Kesler has led the Canucks in the playoffs with 15 points and five goals.
San Jose is the No. 2 seed in the West. The Sharks beat No. 7 Los Angeles in the first round in six games and then defeated no. 3 Detroit in seven games. The Sharks took a 3-0 lead on the Wings in the series, but were pushed to a Game 7, where they won 3-2. San Jose scored 18 goals in the series and also gave up 18. The Sharks have been led this postseason by Ryane Clowe, who has 13 points and four goals.
