The Lightning forced a Game 7 by picking up a 5-2 win in Detroit in Game 6. The road team has now won three straight between these two and four of the six games in this series. According to oddsmakers at online sports book GT Bets, Tampa Bay is favored at home in this game, as the Lightning are getting odds of -175 to win, while the Red Wings have been given a money line of +160 to prevail. The over/under total for the game has been set at 5 goals.
The Lightning started fast in Game 6, scoring a pair of goals in the first 11 minutes. Detroit was able to cut the score to 3-2 in the third period, but Tampa then locked up the win with a goal from Alex Killorn with just over five minutes to play. Tyler Johnson scored two goals in the win, giving him six goals in the series. Nikita Kucherov added three assists for the Lightning while Tomas Tatar had both goals for the Red Wings.
