Updated NHL East Odds
(TheSpread) – The NHL Eastern Conference Playoffs have reached the second round. Here is an updated look at the odds to win the east now that just four teams remain.
According to oddsmakers, the New York Rangers are now the favorite to win the East, as they have 3/2 odds to prevail. The other odds to win the East are Philadelphia (8/5), New Jersey (4/1), and Washington (5/1).
The Rangers are the top seed in the East and they beat Ottawa in seven games to reach the second round. New York will now face Washington in the second round. The Rangers have won the conference title just one time, which came back in 1994.
Philadelphia beat the conference favorite, Pittsburgh, to reach the conference semifinals. The Flyers are the No. 5 seed and they will take on New Jersey in the second round. The Flyers have won the conference title eight times. Their last conference championship came in 2010.
The Devils are the No. 6 seed in the East. They outlasted Florida in seven games to reach this round. New Jersey has won the conference title four times, with the last title coming in 2003.
The Capitals are the No. 7 seed and they upset the defending Stanley Cup champs, Boston, in 7 games in the first round. The Capitals have won the conference championship just one time. That title came in 1998.
