Capitals vs. Islanders Game 6 Odds
NEW YORK (TheSpread) – The New York Islanders look to avoid elimination when they host the Washington Capitals in Game 6 of their series tonight at 3PM ET.
Washington is 48-27-12 on the season and 23-13-7 on the road. The Islanders are 49-30-8 overall and 26-14-3 at home. With a 5-1 win at home in Game 5, the Capitals took a 3-2 lead in the series on Thursday night. The home team has won seven of the last nine meetings between these two teams and they have pushed or hit the under in four of their last six meetings.
According to the latest oddsmakers, the Islanders are the slight favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -125 to win, while the Capitals are getting a money line of +115 to end the series. The over/under total for the game has been set at 5 goals.
Washington came out fast and furious in Game 5, scoring five goals on the Capitals. New York did have a momentary 1-0 lead when Josh Bailey scored, but the Capitals dominated from there, posting a total of 41 shots to just 23 for the Islanders. Evgeny Kuznetsov had two goals and one assist to lead Washington in the win while Karl Alzner had one goal and one assist.
