Leafs vs. Capitals Game 6 Pick
Will the Washington Capitals put the Toronto Maple Leafs away for good when the two meet in Game 6 today at 7PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Washington is the favorite on the road, as the Capitals are getting odds of -150 to win, while the Maple Leafs are getting a money line of +130. The over/under total for goals is listed at 5.5.
The Capitals took a 3-2 lead in this series thanks to a 2-1 OT win on Friday night. Washington has won back-to-back games in the series after falling behind 2-1. Washington comes into tonight’s game 58-19-10 overall and 24-13-7 on the road. Toronto is 42-28-17 overall and 22-14-7 at home.
Game 5 was another grinder of a game, as the two teams only combined for 53 shots on goal in an OT contest. T.J. Oshie netted his third game of the playoffs in the first period while Auston Matthews’ third goal tied the game at 1-1 in the second. Justin Williams won the game just 1:04 into overtime with his third goal of the series. Braden Holtby finished with 24 saves in the win while Frederik Andersen had 26 saves.
This won’t be easy for the Capitals, as they have to win on the road against a Toronto team that they haven’t been able to beat by more than a goal in this series. Expect another close, physical battle tonight. However, I am going to stick with the Capitals even on the road. Washington has the experience and the talent to find a way to close things out today.
