The Capitals grinded out the 2-1 win on Tuesday night to even up this series. Both teams scored in the opening period and then it took 11 minutes into overtime before another goal was scored. Nicklas Backstrom got the game-winner. Braden Holtby recorded a total of 36 saves in the win while Alex Ovechkin had the other Washington goal. Casey Cizikas had the lone goal for New York.
