Capitals vs. Islanders Gm 4 Odds
NEW YORK (TheSpread) – The New York Islanders can take a commanding lead in its series with the Washington Capitals when the two meet tonight at 7:30PM ET in Game 4.
The Capitals are now 46-28-11 on the season and 22-14-6 on the road while the Islanders are 49-29-7 overall and 26-14-2 at home. The Islanders earned a 2-1 OT win over the Capitals in Game 3 to take a 2-1 lead in the series. The Islanders and Capitals have exchanged wins and losses in their last 10 meetings, dating back to 2013. They have now pushed or hit the under in three of their last four meetings.
According to the latest oddsmakers, the Islanders are favored at home in this game, as they are getting odds of -140 to win, while the Capitals are getting odds of +120 to prevail. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 5.5 goals.
The Islanders had to grind out the 2-1 OT victory on Sunday. New York had a 42-25 edge in shots and an 11-5 edge in takeaways, but the play of Washington goalie Braden Holtby kept Washington in the game. In the extra session, New York scored just five seconds in as John Tavares got a rebound goal to give the Islanders the series lead.
