Montreal took Game 3 of the series on Sunday with a 3-1 victory. The Canadiens now have a 2-1 lead in the series and they have won five of their six games against the Rangers this season. Montreal is 49-27-9 overall and 24-14-4 on the road while the Rangers are 49-29-7 overall and 21-17-4 at home.
The Canadiens didn’t given the Rangers much of a chance on Sunday, as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead in Game 3. Artturi Lehkonen, Shea Weber and Alexander Radulov scored in the win while Brady Skjei got a late goal for the Rangers to avoid a shutout. Carey Price only faced 21 shots to get the victory. The Canadiens ended up with a 29-21 edge in shots and the Rangers had 21 giveaways in the loss.
Montreal seems to have the edge on the Rangers in general. They have outshot New York in each of the last two games and just seem to be the better team in the little facets. I like the Canadiens on the road again today. New York should come out strong early, but eventually that will fade and the Canadiens will get back to playing the better hockey in the last two periods.
