Sunday NHL Free Pick
(The Spread) – The New York Rangers have their backs against the wall Sunday afternoon as they entertain the Washington Capitals in Game 3 of their NHL Playoffs series.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Rangers -130 favorites in the contest, while the Capitals are +110 underdogs on the money line. The over/under total for this game is resting at 5 goals. Play begins at 3:05PM EST.
Washington’s young goaltender Michal Neuvirth turned back all 22 shots against him to post the 2-0 win Friday night. Goals from Jason Chimera and Jason Arnott in the second period proved to be the difference.
Both games in the series have seen strong goaltending, not only from Neuvirth but also by Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist as he has stopped 47 of 51 shots against him over the two games.
NHL Free Pick: While it is hard to go with a young goalie in Neuvirth making his first ever postseason start on the road, but the kid is obviously riding a big wave of confidence and has a strong defense in front of him. While the Capitals offense was down this season, they are still capable of some firepower and when they are not Washington is still able to win games as they showed in the first two in this series. New York is going to be playing with a lot of pressure to get something done and that is when you start snatching at chances. Look for the Capitals to play a more relaxed, flee-flowing game as they move this series to 3-0. I like Washington at plus money in this one.
SUNDAY NHL PLAYOFFS FREE PICK: WASHINGTON CAPITALS +110
