Nashville surprised many by picking up a 1-0 win at Chicago in Game 1. That snapped a four-game losing streak to the Blackhawks. Nashville now comes into tonight’s game at 42-29-12 overall and 18-20-4 on the road. Chicago is 50-24-9 overall and 26-11-5 at home.
Nashville rode a hot goalie on Thursday in Game 1, as Pekka Rinne recorded 29 saves to get the shutout. On the flip side, Corey Crawford only faced 20 shots, but one managed to sneak in. The goal came relatively early as Viktor Arvidsson scored 7:52 into the first and the score held from there. Chicago had the 29-20 edge in shots and also had a 31-24 edge in faceoffs in the loss.
Bet on Predators vs. Blackhawks
Chicago started out slow, but the Blackhawks really dominated the last two periods of play, out-shooting Nashville 23-9. Rinne was just the hot goalie on Thursday. The Blackhawks likely will find the net tonight and will play with a little added pressure because they can’t fall two games behind and have to go to Nashville. The Predators aren’t a great road team, so I don’t suspect they will steal a second game at Chicago this weekend.
