Game 1 between the Phoenix Coyotes and Detroit Red Wings is Wednesday night and according to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, the Wings are –167 money line favorites over the Coyotes. The over/under total for this game opened at 5.5 goals.
Sidney Crosby (who actually won’t play tonight) and the Pittsburgh Penguins have opened as –145 money line favorites over the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning, whoa re +134 on the ML. The puck will drop tonight at 7:00PM ET for this playoff contest.
The New York Rangers, who needed help last weekend just to make the playoffs, have a tough task on Wednesday when they take on Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals. The visiting Rangers are +152 money line underdogs against the Caps.
The defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks are +159 money line dogs against the Vancouver Canucks (-173) at 10:00PM ET. According to latest NHL trends, the Hawks are 4-1 in their last five trips to Vancouver, while the underdog in this series is 6-2 in the last eight meetings.
To cap off the action on Wednesday night, the Anaheim Ducks will host the Nashville Predators at 10:30PM ET. The Ducks are –140 on the money line, while the Predators are +129. According to latest NHL public betting information, the 55% of the public favors the underdog Predators tonight.
