Opening Stanley Cup Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The Stanley Cup Playoffs are set as the season ended on Saturday night. Here is a look at the odds to emerge with the cup in this year’s playoffs.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the New York Rangers are the favorites with 6/1 odds, while the Anaheim Ducks, Chicago Blackhawks, Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues are all listed with 8/1 odds to win.
The Rangers are the top seed in the Eastern Conference. They racked up 113 points this season, most of any team in the NHL. They went 53-22-7 on the season. New York meets Pittsburgh in the first round. The Rangers are vying for their fifth Stanley Cup.
Anaheim has the top seed in the West after posting 109 points. It went 51-24-7 on the season. The Ducks will face the Jets in the opening round. Anaheim is seeking its second Stanley Cup.
The other three teams are in the stacked Western Conference, Central Division portion of the playoffs. St. Louis will host Minnesota in the first round, but the Wild are one of the hottest teams in hockey. Chicago will actually hit the road to meet Nashville in the opening round. Chicago is looking to win its sixth Stanley Cup. St. Louis and Minnesota are both seeking their first Stanley Cup.
