NHL Western Conf. Series Prices
(TheSpread) – The 2012 Western Conference Playoffs get started on Wednesday. Here is a look at the series prices for each of the four matchups in the West.
The oddsmakers favor all of the better seeds in each matchup except for one. Oddsmakers see No. 6 Chicago as the favorite to win the series against No. 3 Phoenix. Chicago has been given odds of -125 to win the series while the Coyotes have odds of +105. Chicago actually has more points (101) than Phoenix (97), but because the Coyotes won the Pacific Division, they have the home-ice edge and the third seed. In the season series, Phoenix actually won three of four meetings with Chicago.
The series that has the biggest difference in odds has No. 1 Vancouver (-200) taking on No. 8 Los Angeles (+170). It is no surprise that the top seed would have the biggest margin, but the odds are actually closer than might have been expected. These two have split the season series over four games.
