NHL Western Conference Odds
(TheSpread) – The 2012 NHL Playoffs get underway this week. Here is a look at the odds to win this year’s Western Conference title.
According to oddsmakers, the Vancouver Canucks are the favorite to win the conference with odds to 9/4. Other short odds to win are St. Louis (7/2) and Detroit (4/1).
Vancouver is the top seed in the West with 111 points. They have the most points of any team in the NHL. Vancouver has scored 249 goals and allowed 198 on the season. The Canucks have won three conference titles in its history.
St. Louis is the No. 2 seed in the West and champions of the Central Division. The Blues have a total of 109 points as they scored 210 goals while allowing a league-low 165 goals. St. Louis has never won a conference title in franchise history.
Detroit is the No. 5 seed in the West. The Red Wings finished with 102 points as they scored 248 goals and allowed 203. Detroit did struggle on the road, going 17-21-3 this season. The Wings have won six conference titles in franchise history.
