Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Canadiens –106 money line favorites over the Senators, who are +102 on the ML. The puck will drop tonight at 7:00PM ET.
The Canadiens head into tonight’s game with a 43-30-4-3 overall record and are 19-19-1-0 on the road. According to latest NHL trends, the under is 45-26 in all Montreal games this year and 26-11 when the Habs have played on the road.
The Senators enter Thursday’s contest with a 31-39-5-5 overall record and are 15-20-2-3 at Scotiabank Place. The under is 40-36 in all Ottawa games this season, and 23-15 when the Seantors have played at home.
NHL Free Pick: Let’s see if we can’t cash in twice with the Habs in one week. They represented great value a couple of nights ago with the Hawks, whom they beat 2-1 in overtime to clinch their fourth-straight playoff appearance. Now they’re only –106 on the money line against a team with a losing record, although one that has also played well of late. Jason Spezza has scored eight goals and 12 assists in his last 13 games for Ottawa, which is coming off an impressive 6-3 win over the Flyers on Tuesday. Still, I like going with the team with more talent in Montreal, which has also beaten Ottawa in four of the last five meetings between these two teams. The favorite is also 19-9 in the last 28 overall meetings and as long as the Habs haven’t put things on cruise control after making the playoffs, they should come up victorious tonight.
