Maple Leafs vs. Panthers Prediction
The Panthers are hot and should pick up a win tonight when they host the Maple Leafs at 7:30PM ET. But will Florida win by enough to cover on the puckline?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Panthers are massive -260 money line favorites over the Leafs, who are +210 to pull off the upset. The total, meanwhile, sits at 5 goals for tonight's game and Florida is -1.5 (+120) on the puckline.
Toronto will start Jonathan Bernier in net and he's been solid of late. He saved 30 of 32 shots in a 3-1 win over the Bruins last Saturday and has allowed two or fewer goals in each of his last five games.
Roberto Luongo has been equally impressive for the Panthers, if not more so. He kicked out 33 of 35 shots in a 5-2 win over the Lightning on Saturday night and has now won three of his last four games. He owns a 2.34 GAA and a .922 save percentage to go along with his 32 wins in 58 games this season.
The Maple Leafs have lost seven of eight versus the Panthers and haven't fared well in Sunrise either, losing four of five road games to Florida. But with Bernier in net, the Maple Leafs should keep things close and thus, there's value in taking them on the puckline.
