Sabres vs. Hurricanes Prediction
Solid penalty kill has helped the Hurricanes pick up points in all but one game since the trade deadline. Will Carolina get the job done tonight when it hosts the Sabres at 7:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Hurricanes are -160 money line favorites versus the Sabres, who have odds of +135 to pull off the upset tonight. As for the total, the number currently sits at 5 goals.
Bet Tonight’s Sabres vs. Hurricanes Game
Carolina has stopped 38 of 41 penalties for a 92.7 percent success rate to own the best penalty kill in the NHL since December 4 at 87.9 percent. That unit has helped the Hurricanes post a 3-1-4 record in their last eight games as they’ve gone to overtime in six of their last seven contests.
They shouldn’t need overtime tonight, however, as they own a 10-3-2 record in their last 15 games against the Sabres in PNC Arena. Buffalo is still without Tyler Ennis (who hasn’t played in nearly three months due to a concussion suffered on December 30), while Jack Eichel missed Saturday’s game in Toronto because of illness. Defenseman Cody Franson (concussion) and goaltenders Robin Lehner (ankle) and Jason Kasdorf (groin) also skipped practice for the Sabres on Monday.

Usually we stay away from favorites of more than -150 but the Hurricanes are a great play tonight despite the steep price. The home team is a perfect 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams while the Sabres have lost five of six in Carolina.
