Detroit has won its last two games to move ahead of the Flyers for the Eastern Conference’s final wild-card spot with a 5-3 win at Florida on Saturday. Pavel Datsyuk led the way for the Wings, scoring two goals while Dylan Larkin added a goal and an assist. Larkin now has a team-best 21 goals and 43 points, leaving him just shy of becoming the first Red Wings rookie to finish with at least 44 goals since Henrik Zetterberg accomplished the feat in 2002-03.

As for the Lightning, they’re 1-4-1 in their last six games but did pick up a 2-0 win on Saturday at Arizona. They need to pick up things offensively and they’re due for a breakout after tallying just six goals in their last three games.
That breakout should happen tonight, as the Red Wings have played over the total in two of their last three games and are feeling good after scoring five goals in Sunrise over the weekend. The over is 3-1-1 in Detroit’s last five road games and is 5-2 in Tampa Bay’s last seven when its opponent scores five goals or more in its previous game.
