Predators vs. Avalanche Pick
57 Nashville Predators at 58 Colorado Avalanche, 9PM ET
According to oddsmakers at YouWager, the Predators are listed as a -140 favorite on the spread line. The Avalanche are a +120 underdog, while the total is set for 5.5 goals.
Nashville opened as the -140 favorite it is now, while the total has not budged from 5.5 goals. The Predators can be found anywhere from a -135 to a -155 favorite, while the Avs are between a +135 and a +120 underdog. The over-under is at 5.5 goals at offshore books, but can be bet on at 6 goals at some Las Vegas sportsbooks.
As of Friday morning, 73 percent of public bets are on the Avalanche. Online wager info also says that 54 percent of bets are being placed on the over.
INJURY TO WATCH
Nashville center Calle Jarnkrok (upper body) is out indefinitely. For Colorado, left winger Vladislav Kamenev (arm) is questionable. Center Colin Wilson (brain injury), goaltender Jonathan Bernier (neck), goalie Andrew Hammond (brain injury), defenseman Erik Johnson (shoulder), defenseman Mark Barberio (lower body) and defenseman Sergei Boikov (shoulder) are all out indefinitely.
The Predators are playing awesome hockey right now, with 12 wins in their last 13 games. The lone loss was a 3-2 home shootout setback versus the Devils last Saturday. Nashville is a clear Stanley Cup contender. The biggest worry here is that the Preds are on a back-to-back after defeating the host Coyotes by a 3-2 final last night. But it is an even playing field here as Colorado also played last night, winning 4-1 at the Blues for its third victory in a row. I have to take the better team here, a Nashville squad playing as well as anyone in the NHL right now.
