Sharks vs. Flames Pick
55 San Jose Sharks at Calgary Flames, 9PM ET
According to oddsmakers at YouWager, the Flames are listed as a -140 favorite on the moneyline. The Sharks are a +120 underdog, while the total sits at 5.5 goals.
Calgary opened as a -135 favorite before the line was bumped up, while the total has remained at 5.5. The Flames are now between a -130 and -135 favorite depending on the sportsbook, while San Jose ranges from a +122 to a +115 underdog. The total is 5.5 at all books.
As of Friday morning, 63 percent of public bets are coming in on the visiting Sharks. Online wager info also states that 56 percent of bets are being placed on the under.
INJURY TO WATCH
Sharks left winger Evander Kane (undisclosed) is questionable tonight, while right winger Joonas Donskoi (upper body) is out. Right winger Joel Ward (shoulder) and center Joe Thornton (knee) are out indefinitely.
San Jose is 2-0 in two meetings this season, winning 3-2 at Calgary on Dec. 14 and then 3-2 in a shootout on its home ice Dec. 28. The Sharks have won five of their last seven games, while Calgary has won three of its last four. For whatever reason, the Flames struggle at home as they are 15-16-3-1 on their own ice as opposed to an outstanding 20-10-2-4 on the road. I like the way San Jose is playing coming into this contest and I think it will be able to notch another win over the Flames tonight.
