Ilya Sorokin stopped 39-of-42 shots in Sunday’s 5-3 win over the Anaheim Ducks. Sorokin did a nice enough job considering the attrition he faced in the contest. His offensive teammates worked out to a 3-1 lead by the end of the first period, which gave him a nice amount of scoreboard wiggle room in the early going. While Sorokin was not quite at his sharpest on Sunday, we’ll give him a mulligan, here, as he had turned in a pair of shutouts (plus a one-goal-allowed showing) over his previous four starts. The Islanders will mix it up with the Capitals on Tuesday, when next they take to the ice.
Washington Capitals DFS Spin
Alex Ovechkin had two assists in the Capitals 4-3 overtime win Friday. Ovechkin has 36 goals and 71 points in 58 games after Friday’s action. He had a four-game points streak snapped on Wednesday but was right back at it Friday night. He is a must start.
Golden Knights vs. Blues Betting Prediction
The Islanders are winless in their last four games against the Capitals and are 0-4 in their last four games in Washington, as well. The Islanders have dropped six of their last seven games as a road underdog, are 5-22 in their last 27 games versus a team with a winning record and are 5-21 at the window in their last 26 games as an underdog either home or away. On the other side, the Capitals have won four of their last five games overall and are 17-8 in their last 25 games playing on three or more days of rest.
