Avs to rebound vs. skidding Coyotes
Mikkel Boedker will see no shortage of familiar faces when his Avalanche drop the puck with the Coyotes tonight at 9 p.m. ET.
Online sports book Bovada.lv gives host Colorado odds of -160 to triumph at the Pepsi Center, while Arizona takes on a money line of +140 to win.
As one of the top forwards to change places at last week’s trade deadline, Boedker finally said goodbye to the desert. The former eighth overall pick spent the first seven-plus seasons of his career there, amassing 133 goals in 445 games.
Now based in the Rockies, Boedker is adjusting to life with new linemates Gabriel Landeskog and Nathan MacKinnon. Yet the time seems ripe for a breakout vs. old friends-turned-nemeses. The Coyotes have dropped seven of 10, falling into a tie with Vancouver for fourth place in the pedestrian Pacific Division.
Eager to avenge Saturday’s gut-wrenching defeat to Nashville, Colorado can’t afford a misstep against a foe whose last road victory came on Jan. 25. Arizona, what with its dormant power play and depleted talent pool, figures to comply.
