Oilers edge Ducks
Edmonton secured a 2-1 home win Saturday over Anaheim despite star Connor McDavid missing the game due to suspension. The Oilers (26-29-6) took a 1-0 advantage with four minutes left in the first period on a goal by Josh Currie, his first of the season and in his NHL career. Milan Lucic and Andrej Sekera assisted on the score. Sam Gagner made it 2-0 57 seconds into the second period on a goal assisted by Leon Draisaitl and Kris Russell. The Ducks cut it to a one-goal game later in the second, but Edmonton held on from there. Mikko Koskinen made 33 saves on 34 shots in the winning effort.
Predators shut out by Avs

The Avalanche led 1-0 through one period before adding two more goals in both the second and third periods. The Predators recorded 38 shots on goal with Viktor Arvidsson and Mattias Ekholm leading the way with six shots apiece. Pekka Rinne allowed five goals on 21 shots in the defeat.
NHL Betting Trends
Edmonton
The Oilers are 8-20 in their last 28 games overall. Edmonton is 5-13 in its last 18 games versus the Western Conference.
Nashville
The Predators are 4-1 in their last five games versus the Pacifici Division. Nashville is 36-15 in its last 51 Monday games.
Prediction:
It was nice while it lasted for the Oilers, but going on the road to face a salty Predators team after a bad loss over the weekend is less than ideal. Look for Rinne to bounce back strong if he is in net and Nashville to overwhelm an Edmonton team that is having another shaky season. Take the puckline bet if you are so inclined.
