Bruins double up Blackhawks

Boston rolled to a 6-3 home win Tuesday night over Chicago to improve to 32-17-8 on the season. After the Blackhawks opened the scoring, the Bruins scored three times in the first and another in the second to go up 4-1. David Krejci evened it with a power play goal with 5:13 left in the first off assists by Patrice Bergeron and Jake DeBrusk. Danton Heinen gave the hosts the lead less than a minute later with assists going to Brad Marchand and Zdeno Chara. Marchand made it 3-1 with 1:01 to go in the period with assists courtesy of Heinen and Bergeron. DeBrusk pushed it to a three-goal lead with 1:54 remaining in the second period on assists by Krejci and Marchand. Chicago managed to trim it to 4-3 with a goal later in the second and another in the third period, but Peter Cehlarik scored on the power play on assists from Heinen and Torey Krug to add an insurance goal with 12:42 to play. Krejci added the final goal with under five minutes left on assists by Marchand and DeBrusk. Tuukka Rask earned the victory in net as he surrendered three goals on 26 shots.

Ducks break seven-game losing streak

Anaheim ended a seven-game losing skid Wednesday night at home with a 1-0 triumph over Vancouver. Kevin Boyle stopped all 35 shots sent his way to record the shutout in his first-ever NHL start and only second NHL appearance. He is expected to be back in goal tonight. Anaheim recorded 22 shots in the winning effort, with Silvferberg notching a team-best four shots.

NHL Betting Trends

Boston

The Bruins are 6-0 in their last six games versus the Pacific Division. Boston is 4-1 in its last five games as a favorite.

Anaheim

The Ducks are 8-3 in their last 11 games following a win. Anaheim is 2-5 in its last seven Friday games.

Prediction:

There aren't really any good reasons to take the Ducks here as the home-ice advantage has really done a lot for them this season. While Anaheim did well defensively last game and got a great performance out of Boyle, don't expect a repeat against a better foe that is playing strong hockey in all areas. Boston traveled, but does have a one-day rest advantage as well. Don't overthink this one and go with the Bruins.
