Maple Leafs cruise at Avs
Toronto posted a 5-2 victory Tuesday night at Colorado to improve to 35-18-3 on the season. Kasperi Kapanen put the Maple Leafs on the board 3:17 in on an assist byAuston Matthews, but the Avalanche scored later in the period to tie it at 1-1 through 20 minutes. Matthews scored on the power play five-plus minutes into the second to give Toronto the lead again as John Tavares and Mitch Marner assisted. Nazrem Kadri scored on the power play shortly thereafter off assists by Matthews and Tavares. Kapanen scored quickly after that on the power play as his unassisted goal made it 4-1. Kadri scored his second goal of the contest in the third period to make it 5-1 at that point with assists going to William Nylander and Andreas Johnsson. Frederik Andersen made 34 saves on 36 shots to post the win.

After falling behind 2-0 in the first period, the Golden Knights got on the board with a Brandon Pirri goal assisted by Cody Eakin and Jon Merrill. Nate Schmidt evened the score with 30 seconds to go in the first off assists by Max Pacioretty and Paul Stastny. NHL Betting Trends
Toronto
The Maple Leafs are 5-1 in their last six games overall. Toronto is 4-0 in its last four games versus a team with a winning record.
Las Vegas
The Golden Knights are 6-1 in their last seven Thursday games. Las Vegas is 51-25 in its last 76 home games.
Prediction:
Las Vegas is due to break out of its home slump, especially considering how dominant it has been at T-Mobile Arena since the start of its expansion season. While the Maple Leafs are in good form, I’m going to trust that the line is favoring the Golden Knights for good reason and they play with a tight focus in order to once again gain a home victory.
