Blue Jackets double up Coyotes
Columbus earned a 4-2 road win Thursday night at Arizona to improve to 30-20-3 on the season. Lukas Sedlak gave the Blue Jackets a 1-0 lead 3:02 in on a goal assisted by Riley Nash. David Savard scored with 2:47 left in the first to make it 2-0 as Josh Anderson and Boone Jenner drew assists. Arizona tied it up at 2-2 with a pair of goals in the second period, but midway through the second a goal byJosh Anderson on the power play gave Columbus the lead for good. Seth Jones and Alexander Wennberg assisted on the tally. Jenner scored an unassisted goal with 6:08 remaining in the third to ice it. Sergei Bobrovsky made 29 saves on 31 shots in the winning effort.
Golden Knights edge Red Wings
Las Vegas secured a 4-3 road win at Detroit Thursday night to improve to 31-21-4 on the season. The Golden Knights fell behind 1-0 in the first period, but evened it up 2:04 into the second on a goal by Jonathan Marchessault. The power play goal was assisted by William Karlsson and Colin Miller. Karlsson made it 2-1 in favor of Las Vegas five minutes later as Paul Stastny and Nate Schmidt assisted. Marchessault scored his 19th goal of the season midway through the second to make it 3-1 off assists by Reilly Smith and Deryk Engelland. The Red Wings cut it to 3-2 in the third, but Brayden McNabb added an unassisted insurance goal later in the period and Las Vegas held on from there. NHL Betting Trends
The Blue Jackets are 12-21 in Saturday games the last two seasons. Columbus is 181-166 in non-conference games since 1996.
The Golden Knights are 99-63 in all games the last two seasons. Las Vegas is 8-12 after scoring four or more goals the previous game this season.
Las Vegas is tough at home and Columbus can't keep on winning on the road. Or maybe it can, but I don't see enough in the tank to record another win away from home here. Bobrovsky has had a solid career, but he is having a down season. If he has a rough night here, the Blue Jackets likely have no shot. I'm taking the hosts here.
