Senators a home dog to Caps
OTTAWA (TheSpread) – The Ottawa Senators are looking to get above the .500 mark on Thursday when they play host to the Washington Capitals at 7:30PM ET.
Washington is 26-15-10 on the season and 12-9-5 on the road while Ottawa is 20-20-9 overall and 11-7-4 at home. Ottawa has won seven of its last eight meetings with Washington, but the Capitals won this year’s lone meeting, 2-1 at home. These two have hit the under in six of their last seven encounters.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Capitals are favored on the road in this game, as they are getting odds of -125 to win, while the Senators are getting a money line of +105 to prevail. The over/under total for the game has been set at 5.5 goals.
Washington is coming off a 4-0 win over the Kings on Wednesday, but the Capitals are just 2-6 in their last eight games and they have lost four straight on the road. Washington has also hit the under in three of their last four games. Ottawa is coming off a loss at New Jersey on Wednesday and the Senators are just 2-4 in their last six while going 3-2 in their last five at home. Ottawa has hit the over or pushed in seven of its last 10.
