RALEIGH, NC (TheSpread) – The 2011 NHL All-Star Game features the best in the sport, but which player will stand out and be the best of the best?

This year’s All-Star game features Team Lidstrom vs. Team Staal with the all-star recipients drafted to one of the two teams. The rosters are larger than an average team, which leads to limited ice time for some, and typically a lot of scoring.

According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com, Tampa Bay’s Steven Stamkos is the favorite to win the All-Star MVP honor with 3/2 odds. Other short odds are Henrik Sedin of Vancouver (5/2), and Daniel Sedin of Vancouver (4/1).

Stamkos is a center that will be part of Team Lidstrom. He leads the NHL in points (67) and goals (38) currently and also has 29 assists on the season. He has a +/- of 12.

The Sedin boys are also among the top scorers in the league. Daniel has 64 points, which ranks third, while Henrik ranks fourth with 61. Henrik leads the league in assists with 50. The two are on opposite teams as Daniel is on Team Staal and Henrik joins Team Lidstrom.

The goalies, who usually don’t play more than a period in the game and are sitting ducks most of the time, have been grouped together for this wager and have odds of 15/1. That is six goalies altogether and if one has a hot period that changes the game, it could lead to a MVP honor.
