Flyers stay hot vs. Jets

Philadelphia won Monday night by a count of 3-1 at home over Winnipeg for its fourth victory in a row. The Flyers (20-23-6) opened the scoring midway through the second period on a tally courtesy of Phil Varone. Michael Raffl and Christian Folin notched assists. After the Jets tied it at 1-1, Philadelphia again took the lead with 1:14 left in the second on a Travis Konecny goal assisted by Andrew MacDonald. James van Riemsdyk added an insurance goal with 3:35 remaining with an assist going to Konecny. Carter Hart accounted for 31 saves on 32 shots in the winning effort.

Rangers win third straight

New York enters the second half hot after winning 3-2 at Boston 10 days ago for its third consecutive victory. After falling behind 1-0 in the first period, the Rangers evened it up on an unassisted goal courtesy of Filip Chytil late in the period. Mika Zibanejad gave New York a 2-1 lead in the second period on a goal assisted by Brady Skjel and Mats Zuccarello. Boston tied it up with 2-2 early in the third period, while the Rangers scored the winner on a power play goal by Zibanejad with 10:55 remaining. It was his 17th goal of the season and assisted by Kevin Shattenkirk plus Zuccarello. Henrik Lundqvist recorded 27 saves on 29 shots to post the win.

NHL Betting Trends

Philadelphia

The Flyers are 0-4 in their last four games versus the Metropolitan Division. Philadelphia is 1-6 in its last seven games.

New York

The home team is 5-2 in the last seven meetings. The Rangers are 3-7 in their last 10 home games.

Prediction:

New York has had 10 days to rest up, while Philadelphia played last night and will be turning to backup goaltender Anthony Stolarz tonight. The fact that the Rangers will have Lundqvist in net and were playing well before the break gives them the leg up in this matchup.
