Team Staal consists of: Eric Staal, C, Carolina; Mike Green, D, Washington; Ryan Kesler, C, Vancouver; Cam Ward, G, Carolina; Alex Ovechkin, C, Washington; Daniel Sedin, LW, Vancouver; Zdeno Chara, D, Boston; Rick Nash, RW, Columbus; Henrik Lundqvist, G, N.Y. Coaches are Peter Laviolette of Philadelphia and Alain Vigneault of Vancouver.

All-Star games tend to be high scoring with the last three games having posted at least 15 goals. Last year saw 23 goals scored while 2007 had 21. Due to the draft, it is hard to size up either team as each has equal talent and scoring ability. Team Staal has the support of the crowd as he is a member of Carolina and is playing in front of his fans.
