The Jets (30-14-2) took a 1-0 lead 5:45 into the second period on a Kyle Connor shorthanded goal, his 17th of the season. Bryan Little assisted on the score. Mathieu Perreault added an unassisted goal later in the period. After the Golden Knights trimmed it to 2-1 in the third, Connor scored his second goal of the game and 18th of the season on assists by Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler. Scheifele added an empty-net goal with six seconds remaining off assists by Connor and Wheeler. Laurent Brossoit made 43 saves on 44 shots in the winning effort.

Predators roll past Caps

Viktor Arvidsson opened the scoring for Nashville in the first period on assists by Mattias Ekholm and Filip Forsberg. Nick Bonino made it 2-0 midway through the second period with Colton Sissons and Austin Watson assisting. Arvidsson scored again early in the second as P.K. Subban and Ryan Johansen drew assists. After Washington cut it to 3-1, Arvidsson scored his 17th goal of the season to give him a hat trick. Johansen assisted on the shorthanded tally. Rocco Grimaldi added an unassisted goal a couple minutes later to push the advantage to four goals. Bonino made it 6-1 with six seconds left in the second period off assists by Ekholm and Ryan Hartman. Calle Jarnkrok scored the final Predators goal with 8:04 remaining off an assist by Kevin Fiala. Juuse Saros made 26 saves on 28 shots to record the victory.

NHL Betting Trends

The Jets are 5-1 in their last six versus the Western Conference. Winnipeg is 8-3 in its last 11 road games.

The Predators are 64-29 in their last 93 home games. Nashville is 1-6 in its last seven Thursday games.

This should be a good one tonight, but with Pekka Rinne in good form it's hard to bet against Nashville at home. Connor Hellebuyck has had an uneven season in net for the Jets and it's more difficult to trust him on the road than Rinne at home. These two teams have had some awesome battles in the past and this one should be no different. Take the safer play with the hosts.
