NHL Western Conference Odds
(TheSpread) – The NHL Western Conference should be wide open this season. Here is a look at the odds to win this year’s conference title.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the L.A. Kings are the favorite to repeat as conference champs, as they have odds of +450. Other short odds to win are the Vancouver Canucks and Chicago Blackhawks, who each have odds of +600.
The Kings made an improbable run to the Stanley Cup last season. They were the eighth seed entering the playoffs but found their groove in the playoffs, going 16-4 to win the Stanley Cup. This year’s team has many of the same pieces, but do they have the motivation to repeat?
Vancouver had the top record in all of the NHL last season, tallying 111 points during the regular season to win the Northwest Division. However, the Canucks were the unlucky team to meet the Kings in the opening round. The Canucks lost the opening-round series in five games.
The Blackhawks didn’t have a great regular season last year, posting just 101 points to earn the No. 6 seed in the playoffs. Things didn’t get much better in the playoffs, as they were ousted in the first round by the Coyotes in six games. Still, Chicago has a lot of scoring talent on their team and will be a threat in the West.
