2013 NHL Eastern Conference Odds
(TheSpread) – The two favorites to win the Stanley Cup reside in the Eastern Conference. Here is a look at the odds to win the NHL Eastern Conference title this season.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the New York Rangers, are the favorites to win the East this year, as each has odds of +400. The other top favorite are the Boston Bruins, who have odds of +600 to win the conference.
The Rangers were the best team in the Eastern Conference during last year’s regular season, as they had 109 points to win the No. 1 seed in the playoffs. Despite that, the Rangers lost in the conference finals to the Devils in six games.
The Penguins also had a strong regular season, scoring 108 points to finish with the second-most in the conference, but finish fourth in playoff seeding due to not winning a division. The Penguins went into the playoffs with a lot of hype, but lost in the opening round to the Flyers.
The Bruins won the Northeast Division last season, racking up 102 points to earn the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. In what was a common theme in last year’s playoffs, the Bruins were upset in the first round. Boston lost to the Capitals in 7 games.
