Bet on NFL Odds

At first glance, 7.5 trades does seem high, but it actually isn’t crazy. Last year, the 2018 NFL Draft featured eight trades during the opening round. Both the Ravens and the Raiders each made two trades on their own. In the 2017 NFL Draft, just five trades were made during the first round. In 2016, there were six made and in 2015, five were made.

A lot of this prop bet comes down to teams and needs. One of the big focuses for trades tends to be around the quarterback position. There are certainly teams that are targeting a quarterback in the first round and could be looking to move up in order to secure one. Kyler Murray is expected to go first to the Cardinals, but if Arizona throws a curveball into the mix, it could really set the first round into madness. New quarterbacks could be in play that weren’t expected to be before and teams may get less aggressive when it comes to moving up to get one.

The Washington Redskins have indicated they are looking for a quarterback in the first round due to the long-term injury to starter Alex Smith. However, Washington is way back at No. 15 tonight, so they will definitely have to move up if they hope to land someone like Dwayne Haskins. However, other teams that are targeting a QB could also looking to move ahead of Washington is viable QB’s are available in that 10-15 range.

There also tend to be a lot of trades late in the first round, as teams become surprised to see some of their top-ranked players fall back late. Quite frequently we see a team or two move back into the first round in order to secure another player.
