ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor was escorted to the locker room after hurting his left ankle near the end of the first quarter of Miami’s game at Buffalo on Sunday.
But the 2006 Defensive Player of the Year returned in the second period.
Taylor, who leads the NFL in sacks this decade, was hurt while pressuring Bills quarterback Trent Edwards. Taylor’s feet got twisted up with Edwards’ feet just after the quarterback got off a pass.
Taylor limped off the field on his own. Team trainers immediately began checking his ankle on the sideline.
Miami’s banged-up defense was already down its leading tackler, linebacker Channing Crowder, who missed his second game with a foot injury. The Dolphins also placed veteran linebacker Zach Thomas (migraines) and safety Cameron Worrell (knee) on injured reserve this week.
