NEW YORK (AP) – Comments on the Philadelphia Eagles by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (8)
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 4): Hot team that nobody wanted to see in playoffs last year. Jason Peters loss a concern.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 4): Relative lack of drama this offseason could make Vince Young’s “Dream Team” proclamation into reality (albeit one year late for jettisoned Young).
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 5): Eagles were only team in NFL to rank in the top 10 in both offense and defense a year ago.
Chris Berman (ESPN, 6): This is Eagles’ season to dream.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 6): I’m with Michael Vick; these guys are locked and loaded.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 7): Team that finished season was much better than one that started 2011. Addition of MLB DeMeco Ryans is key to making Eagles top 10 team.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 8): Michael Vick sees dynasty in his team’s future. We see wild-card run, early playoff exit, and potential shakeup at coach and quarterback.
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 10): Can Vick play all 16 and can D stop the run?
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 12): Michael Vick returns to the Vick of 2010 and talented defense comes together. Andy Reid’s job is on line and Eagles will respond.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 13): Andy Reid teams don’t have back-to-back bad years, but Michael Vick’s health remains key.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 14): Eagles were one of biggest disappointments of 2011, which could mean they are primed to be one of biggest surprises of 2012.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 17): Only club in top 10 on each side of ball last season.
