NEW YORK (AP) – Comments on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (26)
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 21): Another potential bounce-back team. Bucs were much better than they played year ago, and added more talent than any other team in offseason.
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 22): From 4-12 to 8-8 in one season under Schiano.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 22): Greg Schiano reminds me of coaches on the top of this list.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 23): Rookie coach Greg Schiano has hands full in Year 1. Young team means plenty of growing pains, but payoff could be promising down road.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 25): Greg Schiano brings new attitude. However, this isn’t quick-fix situation.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 25): At least Bucs should be more disciplined bunch under first-year head coach Greg Schiano.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 26): Could feature eight new starters under first-year coach Greg Schiano.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 26): Here’s hoping my former team makes me eat my words under new head coach Greg Schiano. I like Bucs’ talent, especially with additions of Vincent Jackson and Carl Nicks that will help QB Josh Freeman rebound. It’s hard to erase from my mind this team quitting last year. Attitude adjustment time in Tampa.
Chris Berman (ESPN, 26): Josh Freeman is man on mission.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 26): If Josh Freeman has bounce-back year, Bucs can bounce back while rebuilding under new coach Greg Schiano.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 27): New coach Greg Schiano must get Josh Freeman back on track.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 27): Josh Freeman will get back to 2010 form, but young defensive front needs to get better as well.
