LANDOVER, Md. (AP) -Plaxico Burress was among the inactives for the New York Giants on Sunday against the Washington Redskins, two days after the receiver accidentally shot himself in the right thigh.
Burress had already been ruled out for the game with a hamstring injury. He has missed one other game this season, when he was suspended for the Oct. 5 victory over Seattle.
The Giants also played without defensive tackle Fred Robbins, who has a shoulder injury. Jay Alford made his first NFL start in Robbins’ place.
Running back Brandon Jacobs was active after missing last week’s game with a knee injury.
For the Redskins, defensive tackle Kedric Golston was inactive with a foot injury. Defensive end Andre Carter, who also has a foot injury, was active.
Redskins linebacker Marcus Washington missed his second straight game with a sprained ankle.
