DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -Miami Dolphins linebacker Derrick Pope said Sunday he was feeling better after going to the hospital for medical attention.
Pope missed practice Saturday and his status for Monday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers was questionable.
Neither Pope nor the Dolphins disclosed Sunday what exactly the fourth-year linebacker was feeling or what doctors found, if anything.
“Everything checked out and I feel better,” Pope said in a statement released by the team. “I appreciate everyone’s concerns. I know our team physicians have been in touch with the hospital medical staff and are satisfied that everything is in order.”
Pope has started at outside linebacker in the past five games. If Pope cannot start, he likely will be replaced by Donnie Spragan, Cameron said.
