MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) – Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey is inactive for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers because of illness, further depleting an offensive line thinned by the team’s harassment scandal.
Tackle Jonathan Martin left the team three weeks ago complaining of daily harassment by teammates, and guard Richie Incognito was suspended.
Nate Garner will switch from left guard to replace Pouncey. Undrafted rookie Sam Brenner, activated from the practice squad Saturday, will make his NFL debut at left guard.
Miami’s Mike Wallace (hamstring) and cornerback Dimitri Patterson (groin), who had been questionable, are active.
Chargers linebacker Jarret Johnson (hamstring) and center Nick Hardwick (neck), who had been questionable, are also active.
