CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -The Carolina Panthers waived defensive end Otis Grigsby on Saturday and signed defensive tackle Gary Gibson from the practice squad.
After a solid preseason, Grigsby earned one of the final spots on the 53-man roster. He had two quarterback hurries in the season opener at St. Louis, but had played little since.
Grigsby had been on the inactive list in four of the past five games and had yet to record a tackle.
Gibson was among the final cuts by Carolina before the season, but was signed to the practice squad two days later. He spent the spring playing in NFL Europa.
