Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel is getting ready for another first in his season of firsts. The forecast for Thursday night's game against the Jets calls for rain.
Cassel said Wednesday his team would be fine in those conditions because it practices in cold and wet weather in New England.
He made his first start in the NFL in the first meeting this season between the teams, a 19-10 win by the Patriots. Now the Jets and Patriots are tied for the AFC East lead at 6-3.
New York quarterback Brett Favre has much more experience in inclement weather after playing the last 16 seasons with the Green Bay Packers. Cassel said that while growing up, he considered Favre one of his favorite quarterbacks.
